Personal Details (family and hobbies): After thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2005, I decided that I wanted to live in a place that offered outdoor recreation right in my backyard. Teton Valley became that place for me and my dog Ziggy. We spend our time hiking, biking, skiing and enjoying all the recreation that this beautiful place has to offer.

Why did you want to become a firefighter?: When I first moved here, I spent my time working at Grand Targhee in different jobs. I was working as a Ski Patroller when a friend who worked for the fire department encouraged me to join the next fire recruit class in 2008. I really latched on to the idea of becoming more involved in helping people and serving the community I live in. Needless to say, since joining that recruit class in 2008, I have been extremely happy that I became a part of this “fire” family! It has been a great experience to work with and get to know all of my co-workers and know that each of them are here to serve their community in a moments notice.
